Development
As senior software architect and lead software engineer for EA Sports’ Madden NFL ’13 I was responsible for directing software development for the game.
For Madden NFL ’13 I architected and led development of ‘FranTk’ (aka ‘Franchise Toolkit’) a new technology used to created the new “Connected Careers” game mode. This system allowed the team to create an entirely new game mode with the exact same functionality shared between offline single-player and online multi-player career modes. This new system also put more power in the hands of the game designers allowing them to author not only the data used to create the game mode but much of the logic as well.
The ‘FranTk’ technology was developed as a multi-year technology project, across the Madden NFL ’12 and Madden NFL ’13 development cycles, and was first used extensively in Madden NFL ’13. I am currently leading adoption of this exciting new technology by the other game teams across the EA Sports games label to aide those teams to utilize it to either enhance the existing game modes, or create entirely new game.
