Having been an embedded software engineer for many years, when I heard about the ‘Raspberry Pi’ device it caught my interest. The ‘Raspberry Pi’ is a cheap credit-card sized computer developed to help improve pre-college education in computer programming and software engineering.
I’m currently starting on a couple of personal projects utilizing the small size, and flexibility, of the ‘Raspberry Pi’, and will likely post more information here about my projects in the future.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a registered charity in the UK and they’re actively working to help kids all over the world learn the skills needed to work, or continue their education, in the computing industry.
I recommend that any fellow software engineers reading my site check out their site, and support this worthwhile cause.
More information about Raspberry Pi can be found on their website here
The Raspberry Pi only costs $35 (without power supply, or accessories) and can be purchased through Farnell in Europe, or through Newark in the US.
