Madden NFL ’11 (Wii)

Madden NFL ’11 for the Nintendo Wii console added a completely new ‘Franchise’ mode and a new 5-on-5 game.

I led the development of the new Franchise mode for the Wii game, including researching and developing the system to allow the player to highlight and select 3D buildings in the mode in order to allow them to interact with different parts of their teams campus. I also worked to create the system that allowed that 3D campus to change over time by changing out individual pieces of the campus with improved or degraded areas depending on how the players team fares throughout their career.
If addition to the aesthetic improvements I built the system which allowed the games designers to easily tune or tweak how a players performance on the field affected the progression of their team, and to create dialog and interaction with advisors within the game and to likewise tune and tweak how that interaction affected the team also.

Before we finished development of the Madden NFL ’11 game for the Wii title I was asked to help out the team creating the XBox 360 & PS3 game, who needed my help completing development of that game. I thus shifted my attentions to the XBox360/PS3 game and helped complete the new Online Team Play mode, and to develop the GameFlow and GamePlan features, for that game.
